About Flowprint -
Our History

Flowprint was founded in 1990 by brothers Alan and Peter Lacey who at that time saw a gap in the market to supply high quality, short run print locally.

From a small factory unit and one machine the company grew steadily, by 1995 they employed 10 staff and with a strong packaging customer base a larger factory was needed. In January 1996 the company moved into its current site in Boyn Valley Road, Maidenhead and Alan Kitley joined as Sales and Marketing Director.

With their combined experience in packaging the company continued to grow and invest heavily in both print and finishing equipment to enable it to offer a comprehensive in-house service.

In October 1998 the company achieved the highest point in their short history when Superdrug Stores PLC invited them to be one of only six suppliers in the UK to be on their print roster. After a long vetting and auditing process Flowprint were selected alongside five multi-national packaging companies, a great achievement for a “small” business.

Investment continued and early in 2001 a new B2 Sakurai two colour press was installed followed by a new B2 five colour press with specialist drying later in the same year, these state of the art machines allowed the company to continue its strategy of offering its customers top quality products at competitive prices.

During 2002 the company was one of 30 nominated for the “Outstanding Management Award” at the Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards. After being shortlisted to the last six Flowprint attended a presentation in November and were awarded third place.

In July the company took a major step forward by installing “computer to plate” technology with state of the art equipment supplied by Heidelberg, software support and advanced proofing equipment has offered improved throughput and higher quality.
